Champagne Ethos “Press Release”

Men of Extraordinary Talent or “M.O.E.T.” are a collective of artists and entrepreneurs that have been making music since the 1990s. Based out of the south side of Queens NY, they shared many stages with the premier artists of that time. Pharoahe Monk, Onyx, The Lost Boys, Kid Hood, Kid Capri, and The Lords of the Underground just to name a few. Like their peers, M.O.E.T. had contracts placed in front of them with the promise of wealth and fame hidden behind confusing legal language that found a way to ask artists for their souls without asking.

Independent Artists

Frustrated but undeterred by the structure of the music industry, the group members took a hiatus from the group in 1996.

Re-Birth

Next Era, Next Level. (Grown Folks Music)

Flash forward to 2007 and Social Media slowly was bringing the original 5 members of M.O.E.T. back in touch with each other. They would discover that none of the members ever stopped being creative or ever stopped any entrepreneurial pursuits. Every member had become an improved version of who they were in the 90s. Friendships were reestablished and brotherhood bonds were reaffirmed. By 2013 M.O.E.T. was back in the studio making music once more. Looking for redemption from all of the corporate forces that would only accept a “compromise” of the group’s artistic integrity. The group set out to make the best album they could ever make. 10 years later, they succeeded. “Champagne Ethos” is a 20 song love letter to the culture of Hip-Hop music and everything it is attached to. Champagne Ethos is a body of work that puts rebellion back in rock and roll as well as it puts “soul” back in music. This album challenges everything music has become and changes everything music is going to be. This album has collaborations with new and brilliant emcees, producers, jazz musicians (saxophonist) and a violinist (Brooke Alford The Artist of the Violin) This album will be available on all streaming platforms on Friday July 7, 2023. If you believe that the current state of music as a culture is without morals or integrity, this is the listening experience for you.
